Press Release

WASHINGTON, D.C. – DCNOW is delighted to endorse the Kim-Rose slate for the National Organization for Women’s (NOW) President and Vice President positions. This “ACT NOW: Grassroots action = National impact” ticket consists of Kim Villanueva (President) and Rose Brunache (Vice President). Their platform is on https://www.canva.com/design/DAGnSQC6nN4/e5goAfU0MTQpKIHnvYzhaA/view?utm_content=DAGnSQC6nN4&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=uniquelinks&utlId=h5e8f31b0b8#1. We are beyond thrilled and proud that DCNOW’s Rose is running.

NOW’s upcoming hybrid conference (July 11, 2025-July 13, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada) will include the elections for the 2025-2029 NOW National Officers. On July 12, 2025, the two tickets will participate in a candidate forum, which can be attended in person and remotely.

Villanueva and Brunache have decades of NOW experience. Villanueva, a bi-racial lesbian, has been a member of NOW since 1987. Her major NOW roles have included Illinois NOW President, Illinois NOW PAC Chair, NOW/PAC and NOW Equality PAC board members, and NOW Elections Chair. Multiple times, she has been a member of NOW’s Board of Directors. She cofounded the Asian American Pacific Islander caucus. In addition, “[O]utside of NOW, Kim has nearly 40 years of experience in legislative advocacy, member relations, fund development, and board governance.”

Brunache, a millennial woman of color, has been active with DCNOW and NOW. Since 2020, she has served as DCNOW’s President, elevating DCNOW “through discussion groups, social media, and a podcast.” In 2022, she was elected to the NOW Board of Directors. She helped passed a bylaw change and a resolution.

Kim-Rose, good luck. Everyone, remember to vote in these consequential NOW elections.
